About CSF Incorporated
Built on Craftsmanship. Driven by Results.
CSF Incorporated is a full-service American manufacturer based in Stoughton, Wisconsin. For decades we have designed, engineered, and built custom automation systems, precision machined components, material handling equipment, and innovative products used in some of the most demanding facilities in the world.

Our Story
From the Ground Up. In Stoughton, Wisconsin.
CSF Incorporated started with a single conviction: that American manufacturing, done right, is still the standard the rest of the world measures itself against. We planted our roots in Stoughton, Wisconsin and built the company from the shop floor up — one custom project at a time.
Over the years we have taken on challenges that other shops turned away. Baby pacifier testing equipment. Rocket propellant facility components. Automated systems for food processing lines running 24 hours a day. Each project added to our knowledge base, sharpened our engineering instincts, and deepened our commitment to building things that work.
Today CSF operates six specialized divisions under one roof — Automation Plus, Super Finishing, the Hilgendorf Cart Division, Contract Machining, the Pallet Return Device, and Rolling Racking Steps. Each division was created in direct response to what our customers needed and could not find anywhere else.
We are not a large corporation. We are a focused team of skilled engineers, machinists, fabricators, and problem-solvers who take genuine pride in what comes out of this facility. When you work with CSF, you are talking directly to the people who will design and build your project — not a sales team that hands you off to someone you will never meet.

Emergency Service
24-hour emergency machining and repair turnaround available. When your line is down, we show up.
These are not marketing statements. They are the principles that have guided every decision we have made since the beginning.
01
Every customer deserves a solution built for them
We do not sell products off a shelf and ask customers to make them work. We listen to what the problem actually is, and then we build the solution for that problem. This takes more time and more skill than selling a catalog item. That is exactly why we do it.
02
American manufacturing is a competitive advantage, not a cost
Every part we make, every system we build, every cart we configure is made in Stoughton, Wisconsin. Not because it is easier — it is often harder. Because the quality, accountability, and speed of response that comes with American manufacturing is something our customers depend on.
03
The best engineers get their hands dirty
Our engineers work alongside our machinists and fabricators. When you design something you also have to build, you design it better. Our shop floor is not separate from our engineering office — it is part of it. That integration is why our systems work the first time.
04
If you say you will do something, you do it
Quotes within 24 hours means within 24 hours. Emergency turnaround means we answer the phone at night. We have built long relationships with customers who have never been surprised by a missed deadline or a different product than what was promised. That record matters to us.
05
Small teams do better work than large bureaucracies
We are not trying to be the biggest. We are trying to be the best option for the customers we serve. A smaller team means every person here owns the quality of what goes out the door. There is no department to blame. There is no manager to escalate to. There is just the work — and the people who are accountable for it.
06
The hardest problems produce the best solutions
We have worked on problems that seemed impossible. Pacifier testing rigs. Propellant handling systems. Custom automation for operations no one had automated before. Those challenging projects are what built our capabilities and our reputation. We actively seek the work other shops avoid.
Our Process
How a Project Gets Done at CSF
From your first call to the day we commission your system, you deal with the same team the entire time. Here is exactly what that process looks like.
01
Listen First
We start every engagement by understanding your operation, your constraints, your budget, and your timeline — before we say a single word about what we can build. We have learned that the stated problem and the actual problem are often different. We take time to find out which one we are solving.
02
Concept & Engineering
Our engineers develop a concept — sometimes multiple options — and present them to you before any metal is cut. We use SolidWorks 3D modeling and animation so you can see how the system will work before we build it. Interference checks, motion studies, operator ergonomics — all done in software first.
03
Build & Fabricate
Everything is built in-house in our Stoughton facility. Machining, welding, fabrication, electrical, controls, assembly — one team, one location. You never have to manage multiple vendors or wonder who is responsible for an interface between systems. We own the whole thing.
04
Test Before It Leaves
We run every system in our facility before it ships. For automation systems this means a full dry-run with production-representative parts. We find the problems here, on our floor, not on yours. By the time equipment arrives at your site, it has already run.
05
Install & Commission
Our team handles on-site installation and commissioning. We do not drop off a pallet and leave you with a manual. We stay until the system is running, your operators are trained, and you are confident in the equipment. Sign-off happens when you are satisfied — not when we decide we are done.
06
Support After the Sale
We know our customers for years, not transactions. When something needs attention after installation, you call the same people who built it. We keep documentation, drawings, and parts information on file. Emergency service is available. We are not done when the check clears.
Experience
Industries We Have Served
Our customer list spans virtually every sector of American industry. Below are the industries we work in most often — but if yours is not listed, call us anyway. Chances are high we have solved something in your world.
Aerospace

Custom carts, material handling, and equipment for hotels, casinos, resorts, and commercial facilities — where the combination of durability, quiet operation, and professional appearance all matter.
Our Team
The People Who Build Everything
CSF is a small, tightly focused team. Every person here has a direct hand in the quality of what we build. We do not have layers of management between you and the people doing the work. When you call us with a question, you talk to someone who knows your project.
Our machinists have decades of experience with stainless steel, aluminum, alloy steels, and specialty materials. Our engineers model in SolidWorks and work alongside the shop floor — they are not behind glass. Our fabricators are certified welders who treat every weldment like it has their name on it.
We hire people who take pride in their work. People who would rather stay late to get something right than ship it wrong. That is not a culture you build with a policy — it is a standard you set from the top and hire for, consistently, over time.
If that sounds like where you want to work, check our open positions. We are always interested in meeting people who are serious about their craft.
What We Look For
Craftsmanship — genuine pride in the quality of your work
Reliability — doing what you said you would do, every time
Curiosity — wanting to understand why, not just what
Directness — saying what you think when it matters
Accountability — owning the outcome, not the credit
What We Are Not
A company that hides behind process when things go wrong
A company that prioritizes growth over quality of work
A company where you wait three weeks for a decision
A company where your best work goes unnoticed
A company where the answer is always "we can't do that"

Tips for a Strong Application
Be specific — real numbers and real projects beat vague descriptions every time
Tell us why CSF specifically, not just that you want any job
The "About You" section matters more than your resume to us
A problem you solved tells us more about you than a list of job duties
No resume? Great written answers are more than enough
